Ancient Egypt
UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Modern Egyptians, and even those of later ancient dynasties,
are and were of mixed race. Egypt has been ruled by Nubians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, and Arabs. At the crossroads of civilizations,
Egypt was and continues to be a melting pot.
The first dynasties of ancient Egypt, however, trace their
roots to both Nubia (modern day Sudan) and the Land of Punt (modern day Ethiopia, Eritrea. Djibouti, and Somolia), as evidenced
by their own accounts.
Even the Greeks knew the true Black African origins of original Egyptian civilizations. For one, Diodorus Siculus of
Sicily traveled to Africa in 60 BC and stated (1):
"They [the Ethiopians] say also that the Egyptians are colonists sent out by the Ethiopians, Osiris having been the leader
of the colony...they add that the Egyptians have received from them, as from authors and their ancestors, the greater part
of their laws...The Aithiopians [Ethiopians] say that the Egyptians are settlers from among themselves and that Osiris was
the leader of the settlement. The customs of the Egyptians, they say, are for the most part Aithiopian, the settlers having
preserved their old traditions."
